Total Eclipse of Heart and Sun – Emotional and Celestial Larceny

Normal is an illusion.
What is normal for the spider is chaos for the fly.

“If you do a worldwide survey of eclipse lore,
the theme that constantly appears, with few exceptions,
is it’s always a disruption of the established order.”
E.C. Krupp, Director of the Griffith Observatory.

Some see it as a time of terror, while others look at a solar eclipse as part of the natural order that deserves respect, or as a time of reflection and reconciliation.
Total eclipses are rare, as is the death of a very close loved one.  Losing Mike in August and having a total eclipse of the sun that same month was very fortuitous.
In honor of Mike’s passing, we celebrated his LOVE OF LIFE by watching the full eclipse of the sun, driving seven hours to get to where we could see total coverage and raised a toast to his life with a glass of his favorite liquor, Xtabentun.
It is befitting that the legend accompanying this liquor are of compassion towards less fortunate and intoxication of love – something Mike lived daily.
