Mazatlan Anew, What's Not to Love

If a writer knows everything that's going to happen,
then his book is dead before he begins it.
V. S. Naipaul

The many ways Mexicans are reminded of death...
Reacquainting ourselves with Mazatlán after an absence of 2.5 years. It seems a little more sedate.  Marine tourism is slightly down but is could also be that we are now used to the many aspects, colors, and oddities of Mexico.

We went to Old Mazatlán's downtown.  Many familiar scenes.

The needy...

Mass on Sunday right in the center of the market, blocking the main aisles to shoppers...

Feeding and dancing with the pigeons...

Show of colors...

Playing with the frigates.  This gentleman let Mike feed them off a stick.  Watch out for your fingers...

Where kids can still be kids...

Where pangas still rule the shores...

Where art is a plenty...

And you can see why.  How can you not be inspired to create in this beautiful setting...

And let's not forget the great food... In this case at Delirium...
